Stripe Mitts – Great for ending your winter blues!

I was getting a little fed up with all my knitting projects of long duration, when Amy said she wanted mitts to go with her scarf.  So I put my brain on it and they ended up a favorite.  They knit up SUPER quick since it’s worsted weight yarn.  Enjoy!  Click here to download the pdf pattern.

Not the hat I thought I was making…

OK, Harry Potter fans…  I totally fell in love with that raspberry hat Hermione wears in The Deathly Hallows, part 1.  Didn’t you?

Well, as a beginning knitter, I thought I could certainly pattern that up upon coming home from the theatre – hah!

I do have an inflated idea of my talents.

However, I came up with a perfectly wearable, cute hat.  Here is the pattern if you are interested.  It has not too much to do with Hermione, sadly…

I will continue to investigate this Hermione business.  I am currently working on idea#2…

Diagonal Ribbed Winter Hat

This is officially my first knit pattern.  When I had the idea for it, I was sleeping…  or supposed to be sleeping.  Why do crafty/sewing things always disturb my nightly rest?

I got up the next morning and jotted down my calculations and knitted this baby right up.  I almost couldn’t give it to my sister for Christmas because I was enjoying posing in it so much.  But I was a good girl, it was duly gifted and I know it will keep her warm while she walks that oh-so-cute weiner dog!
